How would political responses to public problems change if we took the vitality of non-human species seriously? (Jane Rendell in Vibrant Matter)

Pollutants have accumulated in Berlin's soil over the course of time due to the dumping of a wide variety of materials, some of which are toxic.

The register of contaminated sites currently lists 1378 areas with contaminated sites or harmful soil changes. The majority of these areas have not yet been remediated. In many allotment garden sites that were used commercially, industrially or militarily in earlier years, various pollutants such as cadmium or lead have accumulated in the soil.
Starting from this situation of contamination, this work explores how the mycelium can not only be seen as a living material but also as an equal agent within the city.
